Inner peace

Finding Inner Peace

Inner peace is a sense of being that brings all other positive attributes into our lives. Inner peace is the foundation of happiness, faith, and beliefs. It is a state of being calm, composed, content and happy even in stressful circumstances.

Having inner peace is a luxury in itself as it can help you go through anything while being rational and not losing your composure. But the question is how to attain inner peace? Here are some factors that may prove to be beneficial in the journey towards inner peace.

1) Mindful meditation

Our breath is our constant companion, and through yoga and mindful meditation, it becomes a way of connecting to ourselves. Mindful meditation helps us in being present in the current moment and experiencing our thoughts and emotions. It helps us let the feelings come and go rather than spending more than the required time sulking over them.

This may include numerous techniques and methods. Some of the simple and effective ways of practicing mindful meditation are stated below:

Breathing

You must be in a place where you feel comfortable. Get to a sitting position and start breathing deeply. Your spine should be straight and lengthened, and your muscles must be relaxed. After a couple of breaths, focus on the sensations occurring in your body. Feel every sense and let it pass through you. After you’ve noticed all of these, shift your focus back to your breaths and see the outward changes that happen in your body, like how your chest rises and falls with each breath. Whenever you feel like you’ve lost concentration, just come back to your breath, and you’ll regain it.

Yoga

Yoga training frequently begins with a small moment of meditation to help prepare both our bodies and minds for the upcoming activities – thus, negative thoughts pass, making way for positive energy to circulate. The mind clears, and the spirit gradually moves into a balanced zone, essential for perfect self-control and making it more accessible. Yoga poses like sukhasana, vajrasana, garudasana, and uttasana are very effective for attaining peace of mind. You can visit mind fuel daily for the practice of these and several other asanas for inner peace.

2) Hobbies

Hobbies can improve some essential and underutilized muscle fibres in our brain, which can transform the way we see ourselves and engage with the world all around us.

Getting in touch with your long lost love for painting would be an excellent idea to gain inner peace. Any other activity, whether it be jogging, sports, drawing or anything that brings you closer to your likings, must be practised now and then.

3) Acceptance

Acceptance is where prosperity and contentment can be discovered; initiate by acknowledging your thoughts; don’t let them settle, recognise and move on. A thought is just a thought; it is not the real you; an idea means nothing and has no real value; inner peace and happiness are everything.

Take some time to consciously cherish the positive aspects of the moment rather than planning for a positive tomorrow. Shift your focus from the possibilities of what something could have been to the truth of what it is.

Stop being harsh on yourself by pondering what you should or should not do and instead tell yourself that you will give your best and leave the rest of it out of your mind. It is vital to learn that you can only do your best in any situation, but you cannot control the outcome. So, there is no point in worrying and stressing over the results.

4) Gratitude

Concentrating on all the stuff we are thankful for in our lives fosters inner peace and reminds us that there are always upsides. Sometimes all we need is a gentle reminder to bring something to our attention. Expressing gratitude towards the people and things that make even the slightest difference in your quality of life. It can be expressed in the form of a heartfelt note, a gift item, a text, or by simply telling them that you are thankful for them. In the case of things, you can take better care of them and nurture them.

5) Communication

Acceptance is essential for mental health. Acknowledging that there are very few assurances in life and learning to withstand unpredictability is a massive step forward in terms of peace of mind. Make a distinction in both what you can and cannot regulate.

Communicating your thoughts and feelings can help in reducing the stress and frustration related to them. You can share them with any person you trust, or you can write them in your journal or on a piece of paper and keep it away. There is nothing wrong with reaching out for help in difficult situations. Remember that everyone goes through some of the other kinds of hardships in their lives. The critical part is to learn what they taught you, remember the lesson and let go of the feelings.

Conclusion

The above practices are the kind that can be included in your daily lifestyle and schedules. They not just bring peace of mind but also have several health benefits as well. You need to make sure that you do not go too hard on yourself and be persistent in finding inner peace.

The journey towards the attainment of inner peace is a big one.

We should remember that we are not just doing it for ourselves but also the world around us. It is a fact that inner happiness radiates extreme happiness, and the same goes for peace.

It is crucial to acknowledge the importance of consistency and regularity when attaining any attribute related to our mind.
